Just bought an Xbox game key from us? Redeeming it takes a couple of minutes. Your code arrives by email as a 25-character string (five groups of five, like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX), and you can redeem it three ways: on your console, on your phone, or in any web browser. Here is each method, plus what to do if the code will not go through.
Before you start
You will need three things: a Microsoft (Xbox) account, an internet connection, and your 25-character code. Our Xbox keys are global and region-free, so they redeem on a Microsoft account from any country, Singapore included. Once a code is redeemed it locks to that account, so sign in to the account you actually game on before you enter it.
Method 1: On your Xbox console
The most direct way if your Xbox is in front of you. Works on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
- Sign in to your Xbox with your Microsoft account.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
- Open the Store.
- In the Store, open the menu on the far left and choose Redeem. If you do not see it, select the search box and type redeem code.
- Enter your 25-character code and follow the prompts to confirm.
The game is added to your library and you can install it straight away.
Method 2: On your phone
No console handy? Redeem from your phone and the game will be waiting on your Xbox next time you switch it on.
- Install and open the Xbox app (free on iOS and Android) and sign in.
- Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner.
- Tap Redeem code (the exact wording can vary by app version).
- Enter the 25-character code and confirm.
If your app version does not show a redeem option, use the browser method below; it works on any phone.
Method 3: In a web browser (any device)
The universal method, working on a phone, laptop or tablet:
- Go to microsoft.com/redeem.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account you game on.
- Type in the 25-character code and select Next to confirm.
The game attaches to your account immediately. Open your Xbox (or the Xbox app on Windows), go to your library, and install it.
After you redeem
Once redeemed, the title shows up in My games and apps on the console (under Full library, then Owned) or in the Xbox app. Select it to download and install. Large games take a while to download, so it is worth starting that before you want to play.
If your code will not redeem
- Double-check for typos. Some characters are easy to misread; entering it on the web and pasting the code avoids mistakes.
- Right account? If you are signed into a different Microsoft account than you meant to, the code applies to that one. Sign in to the correct account first.
- Already used? A code can only be redeemed once. If you have already entered it, the game is in that account's library, not lost.
- Bought a PC key by mistake? Xbox codes redeem on Xbox; our PC (Steam) titles redeem in the Steam app instead (Steam, then Games, then Activate a Product on Steam), not on Xbox.
- Still stuck? Reply to your order email and we will help.
Where to buy Xbox game keys
Browse our full catalogue on the PC and Console Game Keys page. Xbox titles are labelled (Xbox) in the name, so they are easy to spot, and every key is global. Codes are delivered by email after purchase, so you can redeem using any of the methods above.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I enter an Xbox code?
On the console, open the Store and choose Redeem. On a phone, use the Xbox app (profile picture, then Redeem code) or go to microsoft.com/redeem in a browser. All three put the game on your account.
Can I redeem an Xbox code on my phone?
Yes. Use the Xbox mobile app, or open microsoft.com/redeem in your phone's browser, sign in, and enter the code. The game then downloads on your Xbox.
Do Xbox codes work in Singapore?
Our keys are global and region-free, so they redeem on a Microsoft account set to any country, Singapore included.
How long does delivery take?
Codes are sent by email once your purchase is confirmed, so you usually have them the same day and can redeem right away.
What is the difference between an Xbox key and a PC key?
An Xbox key redeems on Xbox using the steps above. A PC key in our store is a Steam key, which you redeem in the Steam app, not on Xbox. The product title tells you which one you are buying.
